Collection: WeStYarn BFL Bluefaced Leicester

A Luxurious Treat for Knitters and Crocheters.

This is a lovely strong robust yarn with a gentle toothy texture. The yarn makes a nice light weight fabric, with an even stitch definition. This would also be suitable for socks on a tight gauge (2.25mm needles).

BFL yarn, short for Bluefaced Leicester yarn, is a dream to work with and a delight to wear. It's gentle enough for next-to-skin projects like scarves and hats, unlike some woolier yarns. The long fibers also contribute to a beautiful drape.

Despite its softness, BFL yarn is surprisingly strong and resilient. This makes your creations long-lasting and resistant to pilling (those annoying little balls of fluff). The smooth fibers of BFL yarn allow for crisp stitch definition. This means your cables, lace patterns, and other intricate details will really pop!

BFL yarn is perfect for a wide range of garments, from lightweight sweaters and cardigans to luxurious scarves and hats. It's particularly well-suited for delicate lacework shawls and tops. The beautiful drape and softness make BFL yarn ideal for cowls, infinity scarves, and shawls that drape beautifully around the shoulders. Due to its softness and gentle nature, BFL yarn is a great choice for baby blankets, hats, and sweaters.

As with most wool yarns, BFL yarn benefits from handwashing and gentle care to maintain its softness and longevity.

Overall, BFL yarn is a versatile and luxurious choice for knitters and crocheters who appreciate softness, drape, and durability. It elevates your projects to a whole new level of comfort and style.

Dyed in an environmentally friendly manner with acid dyes, carefully washed in unscented wool wash and sent in skeins unless otherwise requested. I try to design my dye schedule in such a manner that I can re-use dye baths several times per session and lower my environmental impact.

If you want more skeins or other colorways please contact me. I recommend hand wash to best preserve color.

Pricing is for 1 skein of yarn (unless mentioned otherwise). Photo's of multiple skeins shows the comparison between skeins and/or yarn bases.

Colors may slightly vary on every device. I photograph the yarn with natural light.
